where can i find a radio lamp/light for a 1998 Trans Am Monsoon Radio?
I guess this is a common defect. The light behind my radio display won't come on so I can't see the time or station. I ripped apart the radio and easily see how to fix it but I can't find the part. Where can I find the radio lamp? This is for a factory Monsoon radio with single CD changer and EQ. Thank you all in advance.
Unless the light bulb in your radio is the same as some of the others in your car I doubt that the dealership can do you much good. A short lesson in light bulbs: The shape is indicated by a letter. I suspect the one in your radio is a "T" which looks like a medicine capsule cut in half. It could possibly be round like a marble which is a "G". The size is measured in 1/8ths of an inch. A common size is 3.25 1/8ths of an inch but they have larger and smaller. Then there is the shape of "what they call" the base. The part that sticks into the socket. A lot of them look like they just squashed the glass and turned the wires up on either side. That is called a wedge base. I may be wrong but I suspect you are looking for a "T 3.25 with a wedge base" Of course it will have to be 12 volt and just a few watts. Check out the following web site and look at the Single LED wedge base bulb and see if it is what you are looking for.... http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html ...Good Luck...
