How can I take a broken light bulb out of a socket besides using a potato?
Two bulbs blew out of my ceiling fan, causing the fuse to be tripped off. As I was taking the light bulbs out, one of the bulbs themselves came out, but the fillament, that which caused the bulb to work, got left behind. How do I fix this? The other bulb won't work without this bulb being in. I don't have a potato.
Rob L. hit on the head. BUT for your sake, please wear eye protection because of the glass that may be left in there. Another way is use a pair of needle nose pliers and grab between whats left of the bulb base and the socket.
