I have a benq w500 projector capable of 1080p and not used for sound. For sound I have a JVC Th-L1 capable of HDMI surround sound.

HDMI picture comes in fine with this set up. But no HDMI sound! I use it with my PS3. PS3 says that the source is not compatible for HDMI sound. ??? Oh, and I should mention that a digital optical cable works fine but not HDMI.

My only guess is the PS3 ignores my surround sound and just reads the projector as the video and audio source. There for making it not compatible for HDMI. Like HDMI will only work if its hooked up to a HDMI capable tv.

Anyone else have a Surround Sound and Projector setup like mine? Work? Not Work?
